Project overview
Cryptnox FIDO2 Card Manager is a mobile app for iOS that lets users pair, rename, and manage their FIDO2 security cards directly from their phones. I designed the product from the ground up to make technical card management feel approachable and safe.
My role
I led the end-to-end design of the product:
Challenges & goals
Challenge
- •Platform constraints:Designing for mobile required careful consideration of limited screen space and native interaction patterns.
- •Security clarity:Actions such as pairing and removing a card are sensitive and needed to be explained without overwhelming users.
- •Technical accuracy:The app had to reflect precise device and FIDO2 behavior while remaining friendly for non technical users.
Goal
- •Design for clarity:Make each mobile step feel simple and focused so users never wonder what will happen next.
- •Provide strong feedback:Ensure success, error, and progress states are visible and understandable.
- •Respect platform norms:Follow iOS conventions so interactions feel natural and reliable.
Process
I started by outlining possible scenarios of how users might interact with the app, since conducting real user research wasn't feasible at this stage and it was essential to this project. Based on these scenarios, I mapped user flows optimized for simple, mobile-friendly steps. Low-fidelity wireframes were created to validate the flow order, followed by high-fidelity iOS screens designed in Figma. The prototypes were then tested to align with expected device behaviors, and iterated to refine feedback states and real hardware interactions.
*Designs shown are based on my work during the project period and may have changed since then.

Outcome
The final iOS app provides a calm, guided experience where users can manage FIDO2 cards confidently. The mobile flows reduced confusion around pairing and removal, and the design system helped the development team ship features consistently and quickly.

Reflection
Designing a security focused mobile app reinforced how every micro decision matters. On mobile, copy, spacing, and feedback combine to either increase trust or create doubt. This project taught me how to design concise interfaces that still communicate technical accuracy and reassurance.
