Project overview
The Cryptnox Wallet application allows users to manage their crypto assets using Cryptnox smart cards. I redesigned the onboarding and setup flow to make the experience easier, clearer, and more guided for first-time users.
This project focused on the very first interaction users have with the app on pairing their card and completing setup securely.
My role
I was responsible for improving the entire onboarding experience:
Challenges & goals
Challenge
- •Complexity:The original setup process included multiple unclear steps that confused users.
- •Technical communication:Some terms and instructions felt too technical for first-time users.
- •Flow structure:There was no clear sense of progress or completion.
Goal
- •Make onboarding simple:Break down steps into smaller, clearer actions.
- •Add guidance:Use visual progress indicators and feedback to guide users confidently.
- •Build reassurance:Communicate security steps with transparency and calm visuals.
Process
I analyzed the old setup flow and mapped where users dropped off or got confused. Based on that, I restructured the process into a linear, step-by-step sequence. After wire-framing, I created high fidelity designs focusing on clarity and use of natural language.
I also built an interactive prototype in Figma to test transitions and confirm that each step felt smooth and predictable.
*Designs shown are based on my work during the project period and may have changed since then.

Outcome
The new onboarding flow reduced confusion and made setup easier to complete. Each step now has clear messaging, progress visibility, and reassurance through consistent feedback and visuals.

Reflection
This project reminded me that onboarding is more about trust than speed. By combining clear language, calm visuals, and predictable flow, users feel guided and confident from the very first interaction.
